Lois Xu is a freshman at Woodbridge High School in Irvine, California, and currently studies piano with Dr. Bella Tseng. She was introduced to piano at the age of 5 and participated in Lang Lang's "101 Pianists" event at the age of 6 in 2015, which was an especially memorable experience and encouraged her to continue her journey in piano. She has since won top awards in several piano competitions, including first prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition (2024), Charleston International Music Competition (2024), American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition (2024), top prize in the Pelican International Music Competition, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Satori Summer Musical Festival, Music Teachers Association of California Scholarship Competition, and many others. Besides piano, Lois plays violin in orchestras. Outside of competing, she enjoys playing in benefit concerts and recitals for senior homes, spreading music wherever she can.
