Jae Eun (April) Park

Flutist Jae Eun (April) Park is a junior at OCSA.  She started playing the flute in 5th grade because she loved the clear sound of it.  She won 1st place in the 2021 American Protege Woodwinds and Brass Competition and was selected to play a winner's solo recital at Carnegie Hall in 2023.  Her accomplishments and awards include: 

  • 2018-2019 SCSBOA Elementary Honor Band

  • 2020-2021 SCSBOA Middle School  Honor Band

  • 2019-2020 MTAC Romantic festival 2nd place

  • 2021-2022 MTAC Romantic festival 1st place 

  • 2020 Certificate of Merit level 6 Awarded State Honor, Selected Branch Honor 

  • 2021 Certificate of Merit level 8 Awarded State Honor

  • 2021 American Protege Woodwinds and Brass Competition 1st place

  • 2021-2022 MTAC Classical Festival 2nd place

  • 2022 King's Peak International Competition 2nd place

  • 2022 Golden Classical Music Awards 1st place

  • 2022 Virtuoso International Music Competition 1st place

  • 2022 American Protege International Concerto Competition 1st place

She is a Student Teacher for the flute with the Dragon Kim Foundation music program. Her pupils are underserved elementary school students in the Santa Ana School District. She is bilingual, speaking both English and Korean.
