Hea is a talented classical guitarist and a junior at Portola High School in Irvine, California. She studies under Jennifer Kim and actively participates in her school’s Studio Music program, where she also plays electric guitar in various bands.

Beginning her classical guitar studies at age 12 with Kevin Kim, former President of the Korean American Guitar Society, Hea has quickly distinguished herself through dedication and skill. She is a two-time winner of the LA Cal-ASTA competition-in 2023, after just one year of playing, and again in 2025, earning the opportunity to compete at the regional level. In 2024, she won the Musical Arts Competition of Orange County and performed in the winner’s concert at the Richard Nixon Library. Most recently, in 2025, Hea was awarded 2nd place in Division VI of the Musical Arts Competition of Orange County (MACOC).

Hea regularly performs with the SixTring Phil Guitar Ensemble, collaborating with senior and adult amateur musicians at concerts and community events. She was recently selected as one of three pre-college mentees in the Guitar Foundation of America’s mentorship program and received a full scholarship to attend the 2025 GFA International Convention & Competition at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. She also participated in a masterclass with renowned guitarist and Pepperdine University chair professor Christopher Parkening.

Beyond her musical pursuits, Hea is deeply committed to community service. As an active volunteer, she brings strong organizational skills, reliability, and a positive spirit to her roles. She also plays JV softball at her school and engages in internships that further her personal growth and community involvement.

Hea is excited to contribute her talents and leadership to support the mission and activities of her volunteer organization.
